Jeff's Commentary - 4/16 - The Two Party System

I realize the two party system in America are what we are all dealing with in politics today.

But if true change is ever to come and our politicians start to work with one another vs. one another, I believe it will take a third party to rise.

A party that is fiscally conservative yet socially responsible. A party that leaves the bedroom in the bedroom and doesn’t get caught up in conversations whether a woman’s right to chose even has to be a topic of debate or if same sex marriage isn’t simply a choice people can make.

A party that doesn’t waste countless hours on whether the current President is a legitimate citizen rather focuses on getting the economy going and figuring out how to best educate the young of this land. Where getting a debt deal passed is because it impacts our savings and futures.

A party that doesn’t simply cut taxes, but makes concessions to cut and raise some taxes to try to put more than a band aid on the debt. A party that will take a risk on redefining Medicare and social security to fix a system that will hemorrhage if something doesn’t drastically change. A party that doesn’t have 88 pages of explanation for a two page tax form.

A party that is socially conscious and willing to help the less fortunate where possible.

I believe there are many out in the U.S. today who would get behind such a party. Less radical than either the left or right…..middle people. And we are not a class!
People who care to do the right thing but don’t want others telling them what it is they believe is the “right” thing. You want to be gay….be gay. You want to be married and gay…be married and gay. You want to have the right to choose whether to bring life into this world or not based on your personal circumstances …to do so. You want to be a stay at home mom and respected for that, great. You want a health care system that really allows for responsible costs, then change the matrix of what we have and ObamaCare.

We don’t believe in free loaders. And we expect accountability from our neighbors at work and at home. I don’t know why this kind of concept and party would be so hard to start. Well I do know why….money. It does come down to that.

Maybe someone out there will financially help to start and extend this vision and movement...

I’m a third party kind of person and I think there are more like me out there.

Maybe too late for 2012, but we’re coming to a theatre near you soon.

Jeff
